Thankful Trees Display

Our Thankful Trees display has been a hit! Starting in mid-November, visitors to the library were asked to "leaf" a note sharing an author or title they were thankful for this season. It looks beautiful!

Stick Together Mosaic Art Poster

This community art project has now made its debut in the library. Along with bringing people together to collaborate, StickTogether mosaics provide a chance to focus on the “A” in STEAM and offer embedded opportunities to foster critical thinking, prediction and social skills.

The first image we will complete is that of a tiger, our mascot!

Students and staff are invited to contribute to the poster anytime.

World Kindness Day: 11.13.2022

World Kindness Day is observed globally on November 13th. It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement and promotes the importance of being kind to not only each other, but also to one's self and the global community.

IRS is celebrating World Kindness Day this year! On Monday, November 14th, each student will be given a Kindness Bingo Board. If a student earns BINGO, they can come to the library for a prize!

Let's remember that there is good in this world, and we can continue to spread kindness throughout.

NH Kid Governor Election

At the culmination of this unit, our fifth graders evaluated the candidates and cast their votes for our next Kid Governor! The students took their civic responsibility very seriously. Our newly elected official will be sworn into office in January.

Though the elections are over, the students at IRS know their responsibility doesn't end yet. We will work to support our Kid Governor's 3-point plan to end hunger and poverty in our state.

NH Kid Governor Update

The NH Kid Governor program is in full swing at IRS. The students in 5th grade have learned so much about our state government, what it takes to be a good leader, and the role that children can play in generating lasting change in our world. The program will culminate with the kids voting for the 2022-2023 NH Kid Governor. Maybe next year we will be nominating a candidate from our school!

10.17 - 10.21.2022

Digital Citizenship Week is a celebration that takes place during the third week of October. During this week, digital well-being is promoted to help our students thrive in a world of media and technology.

As part of our school celebration, teachers were given a menu of digital citizenship activities to complete within their classrooms. Students currently taking the digital citizenship class also worked really hard to create a group display to describe what digital citizenship means and how to be good digital citizens.
